International Summer Building Workshops 2018
European Earthship Centre Zeměloď is organising
13th, 14th & 15th Run of International Summer Building Workshops
under the leadership of the team who built in 2012
with Michael Reynolds the first ever Earthship in Sedliště near Sázava.
Our special guest to be announced before the workshop begins.

During the workshop we plan to build or extend:
-
-dome above separation toilet
-
-plasters of tire walls
-
-the gate and walls in the entrance to Earthship Zeměnka
-
-kitchen from bottles
-
-wooden floor in the classroom
-
-bottle bricks wall in the greenhouse
-
-stone mosaic in the bathroom
-
-PV panels at the front face of the Earthship Zeměnka
-
-external and internal plasters of the Earthship Zeměnka
During the workshop you can learn:
-
-building a wall from tires
-
-building a little wall from bottles and cans
-
-building a little wall from bottle bricks
-
-building a little vault
-
-creative use of recycled materials
During lectures you will get informations which you will not be able to gain anywhere else such as:
-
-experiences from the seventh year in an off-grid system Earthship
-
-fixes to the original design of Michael Reynolds in relation to our climate
-
-enhancement of the roof in relation to our climate
-
-humidity of the shell construction: problems and solutions
-
-solar heating of the building: possibilities and limitations in our climate
-
-experiences with rain water usage: catchment, cleaning and recycling, botanical cells in the greenhouse
-
-enhancement of the silt catch
-
-production and usage of electricity: what can be done with a minimal equipment
-
-examples of using recycled materials for small reconstructions in an ordinary flat
-
-waste: domestic animals, compost, permaculture gardens
-
-Czech building code and its application for Zeměloď
-
-earthships in Europe
We invite everyone and especially those who are planning to build self-sufficient houses from recycled materials.
